Training Systems for Real People

More and more people are looking for ways to get fit.  By participating in a Perpetual Motion walking or
running program, you will learn that getting fit is as simple as getting your butt off the couch and out the
door.  Getting fit does not have to be expensive or involve training on complicated equipment. Learning  to
get fit the Perpetual Motion way is to learn about inspiring yourself to be the best you can be.

The fundamental part of our programs is based on concentrating on becoming aerobically fit first.  As you
become aerobically fitter, you will gain muscle strength and flexibility.  Strength and flexibility training does
play a part in any good fitness lifestyle and these components get introduced later on in the program.
Aerobically fit people have stronger cardiovascular systems and a positive out look on life.

Sneaker Camp will "run" again this summer.  This is a great way to keep your fitness going over the
summer and mix up your running routine a bit.  Classes are designed to suit all levels of runners
whether you have just started a running program or have been running for a while.  The sessions are
based on time so the EFFORT is up to you.  Join instructor, Kim, at 6:00 a.m. Tuesdays/Thursdays the
last 2 weeks of July and the first 2 weeks in August.

Testimonials

It's been another great season of running ...and we want to share some comments received from
some of our participants
John
3 years ago I had the body of a 52 year old, so I decided to start running to see if I could improve my
stamina. Now, only 3 short years later I have the body of a 55 year old! Funny how that works. Howver, by
learning how to run properly I seem to have avoided all of the catastrophic ailments that several
colleagues predicted. It is never too late to learn to run. I highly recommend taking classes organized by
Perpetual Motion. It's healthy and it's fun.

I just wanted to say I think I might be the oldest runner in you group. I don't remember when I started with
the group but it's been a few years. I am not a fast runner but I keep on going. I didn't think I could even
run for 5 mins now I can go for longer periods of time. You have been a great influence on me to keep it
up. I have really enjoyed myself and I am very glad I decided to try running. It's help me with my blood
pressure problems and just feeling great about myself and the great people I have met through the years.
I think every year I will quit but when you send that  email saying it's that time of year to run. I can't say no I
just love being part of your group. So here to another year.
Thanks you for all the work that you do to keep me going.

"It's funny how some decisions can make a change in your life and when you look back you see the
pattern of how those decisions moved you from one place in your life to another.  5 years ago I was
determined to lose weight.  And I did.   A year later, because I had lost the weight, I could accept (barely)
the idea of taking a class to learn to run.  I thought, "Well, I will keep my expectations low and my goal will
be to just go to the class each week."  I did go to the classes, and then I found myself doing the
homework,  then not just doing the homework but running in the morning, even Saturday mornings, and
running while traveling and then running IN THE WINTER!  Without Kim's practical and humorous
approach and encouragement to her students (even whiners like me!) in the Perpetual Motion classes I
wouldn't have kept running.  I have now had the experience of running as part of a relay team in the
Manitoba Marathon 2 years in a row.  I have learned to make goals that are real for me and worked
toward accomplishing those goals.
Thanks Kim!"

"A few years ago I decided to join some friends for the 10k running class, not really enjoying the thought
of running, but knowing I needed some exercise for the winter months. Not only did I surprise myself with
how much I enjoyed running with the group, but I lost some weight that I wasn't expecting! Who doesn't
like that?! I highly recommend this group to all who have considered running, but are hesitant to take the
dive. This is a very user-friendly program for ALL levels. Enjoy it!!"

Shannon
"Years ago I ran 10ks.  I loved it.  Then as my life changed and I relocated, I lost track of my running
friends and my focus on training.  In the fall of 2007 one of my co-workers mentioned a running club
named Perptual Motion.  I immediately joined and met Kim Booth.  She resparked my interest and got me
in touch with new running buddies and I'm back into it all the way."

Lyle
"If you would like to get  into running or revitalize after a break I would strongly recommend this group,
excellent instruction ,good for all levels and many new friends to meet”

Barb
"I had an interest in running, but had no idea how to get started. When I saw an ad for a 5K running class
I signed up. I was so happy with my decision: Kim got the group started with small steps, followed up
with encouragement and information on how to avoid injury. I enjoyed that class enough that I decided to
take the 10K class. That was 4 years ago and I am still running! I would recommend Kim's classes to
anyone who has an interest in running at any level."

Maureen
"I first joined one of the "Running" classes that Perpetual Motion offered three years ago. My sister and
two of her friends were joining, and even though I had NEVER ran, I didn't want to be left out. I was
sceptical to say the least... but Kim made it so enjoyable, and she really helped me to believe in myself. I
did it... and when we did a 3km run for the FIRST time, I actually made it and I was the first one
to finish. Then came the 5 km continuous run... I did it... and I have to say... it was awesome. A feeling
unlike any other I have ever experienced. I participated in two more classes and enjoyed them
both, also."

Glenda
"I have taken Kim's running classes several times over the past few years, beginning with the beginners
class and ending up with the advanced running class .  When I first started I could not run 1 lap
around the track at the Sportplex, and was very skeptical that I would be able to run 5km, yet Kim assured
me that I would be able to.  Guess what,  I was able to do the 5km by the end of our running session.
Kim is very knowledgeable, and so much fun {friendly also}, and she is such an inspiration to anyone
who is interested in taking up running.  I have recommended her classes to many people."
