Perpetual Motion is a running consulting business started by Kim Booth in 2003. In partnership with A&L get active, many folks have learned to incorporate a running program that suits them and their lifestyle. Programs are offered for all levels of fitness - from the non-active to those working towards a personal best at an elite level.
Kim is in her 5th decade of running - over the course of her lifetime, running and other endurance activities like cycling and nordic skiing have been the mainstays of her fitness regime. She started out as an aspiring track athlete specializing in the 800m (PR 2:10) and 1500m (PR 4:57). After 'retiring' from track, Kim enjoyed recreational running from then on participating in countless road races, a few marathons, a couple dozen or so triathlons and road bike tours. If you desire to have a healthy lifestyle that focuses on good health, spending time outdoors and living life to the fullest in good health, then maybe you should try a Perpetual Motion program. There are no gimmicks or fancy potions to get you on the road to good health. You can however learn some basics at whatever fitness level you may be at to benefit your health.
If you want to learn how to run in a simple and effective way, avoid injury and share a few laughs along the way with great people then what are you waiting for? It's time to get running!
Check the Events page for poster and registration form for the spring race series.
SPRING RACE SERIES
Plans are underway for a few fun races to be held at the Sportsplex track and trails this spring. My partners, Cam and Colleen, continue to support the running community by helping provide support (and prizes and munchies!) to put on events in our area.
Saturday, April 14 & Saturday May 19- Trail runs. Two trail runs on the recently redeveloped North Hill trails. Trail run #1 will be a 3 or 5km distance and trail run #2 will be a 5 or 7km.
Saturday, May 5 1 Mile Prediction Run - Predict your time for 4 laps on the track. Run the 4 laps (no watches/gps allowed - that's cheating) where your actual time will be recorded. The runner who comes closest to their prediction WINS.
Saturday, JUne 2 Criterium Relay - Make up a team of 3 runners and beg, borrow or steal a friend as a 4th person to serve as lap counter. Each team member will run 400metres in a relay format for 30 minutes. The team with the total number of laps completed in 30minutes wins! Great speedwork and fun all in one go.
SPRING RUNNING CLINICS
Stacy Dittmer will be offering running clinics this spring - beginner to full marathon training. Call A&L at 727-5817 for details.
