OUR  PROGRAMS

Get Moving Walking Program  -Get yourself going with a  walking program designed for you to have
some fun and put you on the right path to becoming fit. The main  objective of this  walking  program is
to teach you the basics on how to  become fit without having to go to a gym.  This program is for you if:
  • You have been inactive (sedentary) for a considerable period of time (this can mean years) and
have a desire to    become physically fit.
  • Your doctor has told you to exercise and lose weight, but you are at a loss on how to do that
Get Moving will be offered again in the spring of 2009.

Beginner Running Program - The main objective of our beginner program  is to start to include some
running into your fitness plan. This program is  designed to get you working towards a continuous run
of 3 to 5 km over the 8 week period.  This program is for you if:
  • You walk as your primary exercise but wish to add some intensity to your walking workouts with
    a bit of running
  • You have tried running before and you  enjoy   running, but you haven’t been able to stick with
    a    consistent program.
  • You currently do a little running or other aerobic activity and are looking for ways to  improve on
    your current fitness.

Intermediate Running Program - The intermediate running   program will get your fitness level to that
next step.  This  program is set up for people who can currently run 3 or 4km and have a desire to get
up to a 8 to 10km continuous run. This program is for you if:
  • You are currently physically active and are doing some running, but don’t know how to get to
    that next level of fitness.
  • You love to run, but don’t know how to keep from getting injured when you try to build up
    mileage.
  • You have taken the Beginner Program (maybe even twice) and are ready for more or you can
currently run about 20 to 25 minutes continuously.
.

Refresher Running Program - This program is for folks who have taken one of our running classes
before or who may be currently running on their own.  Consider this a review of what you know and a
nice fall tune up before the cold winter weather hits.
This program will have some fun workouts to
work on core strength and running form - if you have been to sneaker camp, you know what we're
talking about.
This class will run for 8 weeks.

Baby Steps Beginner Running Program for new Moms (and Dad's too) -  Getting fit after having a
baby can be a challenge and we recognize that. Join new Mom, Stacy, as she leads you through an 8
week beginner run/walk program to get you back on track towards fitness.  This program will also
focus on post-natal exercises and information vital to new parents. The idea is to bring baby along if
you wish. The workouts will take place on the track outside so a soft even surface is available to push
a stroller on. We don't recommend bringing a new born as the running activity will be a bit jarring for a
small infant.   Recommended age for baby would be a minimum of 5 to 6 months, but contact us if you
have any questions.

Happy Feet Family Beginner Running Program -  This beginner running program is being offered to
families.  Fit parents have fit kids - so why not take on the challenge of improving your exercise habits
together? This program will go for 8 weeks and we'll teach you all about making running fun for your
family.  Our focus is to get
inactive children moving with the participation of Mom and/or Dad or
significant adult  to help out.  We hope you will join Deanna and her 2 sons, Dylan and Ryan, for some
fun time out at the track.

Not interested in a program? If you like to run, join up with the Saturday  morning group run from A&L
get active at 201 Rosser Avenue in Brandon.  Run distances range from about 5km up to 20km. The
group run starts at 9:30 a.m.
